Constance Dodge
Living in the Southern Adirondacks, Constance Dodge is inspired to paint the
timeless beauty of the environment, seasons, and times of day combined with the
human foot print of objects, boats, buildings and the people themselves. A
figurative painter since her MFA, Dodge continues to work in pastels, acrylics,
oils, and mixed media.
For twenty-three years, Dodge’s permanent space was at the Amos Eno Gallery in
New York City. Her work appears in many private collections, both nationally
and internationally, including the National Museum of Women in the Arts,
Washington, DC and at Artpool, Budapest Hungary. Her work has also appeared in
New York Magazine.
Regionally,
she is a member of the Adirondack Pastel Society, the Guild of Adirondack
Artists and the Oakroom Artists.
To cite a few of her many honors, Dodge received a Best in Show award for her
work at the 2014 Buckmoon Regional Arts Festival in Perella Gallery at
Fulton-Montgomery Community College, Johnstown, NY. She was awarded “Best
Overall Landscape” for her pastel painting at the 2010 Central Adirondack Show,
and First Prize in Oil Painting at the 2003 Cooperstown National Show. Dodge
was the recipient of a 2009 Artist Grant as well as a 2003 Project Grant from
the Saratoga Arts Council through NYSCA. She was also honored with a fellowship
at the Millay Colony.
Currently her work may be seen at Valley Artisan’s market in Cambridge, NY,
