Katie Casey
Statement
My
artwork is photo based, often combining vintage photographs with those I have
taken using either a traditional film or digital camera. The challenge is
blending the vintage with the new to create the final narrative. Many of the
vintage photos are of family members who are near and dear. The stories created
within each piece are about memories from childhood, or shared with me from
relatives.
Each
piece is one of a kind, because after it is complete in the digital painting,
it is printed on archival matte paper, then drawn into with prismacolor
pencils.
