Diane Swanson

Diane Swanson

Diane enjoys capturing the beauty of the Northeast in her paintings.
Never one to be content in working in just one medium, Diane creates works in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pastel; the choice of medium often is suggested by the subject she chooses to paint.
Color, atmosphere, form and movement, and the inherent poetry found in natural subjects inspire her work.
Diane earned a dual Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration and English from Syracuse University in 1987.
Diane lives in Queensbury and in addition to painting regularly in her studio at home, works full-time as Executive Director of American Women Artists, www.americanwomenartists.org , a national non-profit arts organization dedicated to inspiration, encouragement and celebration of women working in the visual fine arts. She accepts commissions on landscapes, building portraits, and animal portraits.
